I like to think of therapy as a large puzzle. The greatest milestone is when a client figures out where that missing piece fits.
I experienced grief at an early age when most kids are worried about very different things. Later, when my husband and I were trying to start a family, I experienced infertility while simultaneously leading infertility support groups and counseling women at Cornell’s infertility program. I became what people called an “infertility expert,” but all that really meant was that I was living the same struggle as the women I was supporting. Many of them had been diagnosed with “unexplained infertility” and were searching for answers beyond what traditional medicine offered. That’s when I started exploring natural treatments and incorporating them into the care I offered. Many couples found success combining therapy with these natural solutions, and that experience completely changed how I understood healing.
This led me to become certified in Integrative Nutrition for Mental Health. I am also a Certified Anxiety and Trauma specialist. I believe deeply how our physical wellness impacts our mental health. On the side, I coach looking for natural mental health solutions because I’ve seen firsthand how powerful it can be to address both mind and body together.
My approach is about adding the necessary tools for coping and daily living to your toolbox. Many people assume therapy is just about talking through past experiences or trying to change events that already happened. In reality, therapy is meant to help you regain functioning and coping in your present life.
I work primarily with women experiencing anxiety, trauma, relationship issues, health concerns, marriage challenges, self-esteem struggles, and divorce. Clients tell me I bring positive energy and empathy to our work. I believe in living life with a positive outlook because being negative isn’t going to change the trajectory of any situation. That doesn’t mean ignoring hard things or pretending everything is fine. It means finding practical ways to move forward despite your circumstances.
If you’re looking for someone who understands that healing isn’t one-dimensional, who brings both professional training and lived experience to this work, and who will help you find the practical tools you need to move forward – let’s start putting those puzzle pieces together.
