Growing up in an urban community taught me something that unaddressed trauma doesn’t just affect one person – it ripples through entire families, neighborhoods, and generations. I watched people carry pain they’d never been given permission to name, let alone heal from. That’s when I knew helping people was my calling.

One of my biggest frustrations with how therapy is portrayed is this idea that it’s only for “broken people” or those who “can’t handle life.” In many communities, people are taught to be strong, to pray it away and to never show weakness. And while faith and strength are beautiful things, they were never meant to replace the very real work of healing. I work to change that narrative by making therapy feel accessible, human and like something you do for yourself as a form of self-care, not because something is wrong with you.

“Healing doesn’t mean the damage never existed. It means it no longer controls your life.”

That quote guides everything I do because it’s the truth I want every client to discover. You don’t have to erase your past or pretend the hard things didn’t happen. You just have to stop letting them run the show. Whether we’re exploring family dynamics, unpacking generational patterns, working through deep-seated trauma, or building new coping tools, my goal is always to help you better understand yourself so you can move forward with clarity and confidence.

My clients describe therapy with me as both grounding and empowering. They say I create a space that feels safe enough to be honest and brave enough to grow. I want people to feel seen, like they’re the only person in the room, like their story matters and like they can finally be comfortable enough to open up.

I understand the culture, the hustle and those unspoken generational patterns that shape how we see ourselves and our struggles. In therapy I always try to use language and examples that actually resonate with you because therapy shouldn’t feel like something foreign or clinical. It should feel like a conversation with someone who genuinely gets it. I show up as my full self, and I invite you to do the same.

Outside the therapy room, I’m always learning and taking extra courses to expand my knowledge because this field is constantly evolving and my clients deserve someone who stays sharp. I also love crime shows (there’s something about a good mystery that keeps my mind engaged), and I’m passionate about fashion and styling. I truly believe when you look good, you feel good and that philosophy extends into how I approach mental wellness – it’s holistic, it’s personal, and it matters.

If you’re hesitant about starting therapy, I want you to know that opening up can initially feel uncomfortable and that’s completely okay. Therapy isn’t about judgment or being told what to do. It’s about having a space that’s truly yours – somewhere you can face what’s been heavy and learn healthier ways to carry it. The first step is scary but it’s also the moment you start choosing yourself. And my job is to meet you right there with compassion, patience and honesty as we build the life you deserve.
